From the very beginning, Hotel du Peyrou has been known for its elegance. This baroque mansion was built between 1765 and 1771 as a home for Pierre-Alexandre DuPeyrou and his wife, Henriette Dorothee de Pury. The pair had no children and instead devoted all their attention to the manor. They employed the top craftsmen for the interior, and the exterior was designed by Bernese architect Erasme Ritter. Once the couple passed on, the manor changed hands a number of times until the city of Neuchâtel purchased it. The hotel was restored and then reopened as a restaurant. To this day, it remains a global destination thanks to its coveted Michelin Star. The town also frequently uses the hotel as a spot for special events and ceremonies.

For your wedding, you will have several lounges available for use. The largest and most popular option is the Large Living Room. This space draws inspiration from the Baroque era with gilded accents that feel as though they are plucked straight out of Versailles. Large mirrors create the illusion of more space while crystal and brass chandeliers illuminate the room. This area is equipped to hold up to 100 guests, making it the ideal spot for mid-sized weddings.
The second largest option is The Academy. While this area typically feels like a school room, the open layout and off-white walls offer the perfect backdrop that can be transformed to match your style. The rounded stage will be the ideal spot for your altar, while the large French windows let in plenty of light. This area is able to hold up to 80 guests. The French Salon is a great option for smaller weddings. It stays true to the Baroque decor while adding a bit more color than the Large Living Room. It features a marble fireplace, Robin’s egg blue paneling, and brass accents that tie the entire space together. This area can host up to 35 people. For private elopements, you can use the White Living Room, which has a neutral palette that effortlessly matches your wedding vibes. This area can hold up to 12 guests.

For those who want a larger indoor option, the venue allows you to combine the indoor spots, giving you enough room for up to 140 guests.
For outdoor ceremonies, you will have the garden available. True to the rest of the home, this is a space that is rich with splendor. Not only will you have the exterior of the house, but you will have neatly kept hedges and pristine grass where you can exchange vows. It also features stone fountains and well-kept walkways where your guests can go for a walk once your ceremony is over. This area is able to hold up to 300 guests.
Once it’s time for your cocktail hour, your guests can take a tour of the estate until it’s time for your reception to begin. For your dinner, the venue allows you to take any of the indoor lounges and transform them into reception spaces.
