Domaine Des Bossons is a family-owned estate that stretches back centuries. In fact, the vineyards are believed to date back to 58 BC when Caesar arrived in Geneva with the Romans! For generations, the vineyards were fiercely protected, and grape thieves faced execution. There is documentation in the State of Geneva showing the donation of the vineyards to the Church in 912. 

From there, the vineyards belonged to the small village of Peissy before the land was officially purchased in 1905. The buyer, Albert Desbaillet, was an experienced winegrower who tended to the land well. He kept it in the family, who in turn expanded the work. Today, it remains in the fourth generation of the family, and it produces 18 kinds of grape varieties. Not only will the vineyards serve as a lush backdrop for your ceremony, but the wines are guaranteed to elevate your day, providing a memorable experience for both you and your guests. 

Details of the Grounds

Because Domaine Des Bossons is a mostly outdoor space, the venue does not offer weddings throughout the entire year. Each season, they open the grounds at the end of April with the ability to reserve your space from then until mid-October. 

Most ceremonies take place on the lawn of the estate. This area is absolutely picture-perfect! The lawn is verdant and flat, with tall hedges that serve as a barrier from the rest of the world. You will start out at the estate inside the event tent until it’s time to make your grand entrance. Once the music starts, you will start your descent down to the altar using the paved sidewalk as your aisle. For your altar, you can keep things simple with a flower archway, or you can work with the venue to find the perfect backdrop for your vows. 

Once your ceremony is over, your guests will be able to walk around the property while enjoying wines from the estate. The venue offers seating areas in the sun where your guests can sit back and have conversations. You can also set up cocktail tables around the terrace so your guests have a spot to stand near the lavender and the roses.

For your reception, you can choose to hold your dinner out on the lawn, or you can move it up to the event tent, where you will have a shaded space to celebrate. The tent has everything you could need for your perfect evening! They feature a kitchen your caterers will be able to use to prepare the food for the day. You will also be right next to wheelchair-accessible indoor bathrooms that your guests can use throughout your party. The tent itself is elegant, with arched faux windows, wooden floors, and a cathedral ceiling. 

During the nicer weather, you will have the option of opening up the sides so you can have shade while still keeping the view. Your guests will also be able to come and go as they please throughout the night. If they need to catch their breath after hours of dancing, they will have a comfortable seating area where they can relax. The venue is able to accommodate up to 200 guests for a cocktail reception and 130 guests for a dinner.

You can also take a stroll along the streets, where you can find century-old buildings ideal for dreamy Swiss pictures. Finally, the terrace tends to be a good spot for group portraits. You will have a flat, accessible spot where you can get pictures with the mountains in the background. 

Wedding Details

Domaine Des Bossons Peissy makes it easy to use their property for your wedding. You will be able to rent the property for your ceremony and your reception, or you can shorten your rental and host one portion of your celebration on the grounds and reserve another nearby place for the rest. You will be able to rent the grounds from 9:00 AM-7:30 PM, making it the ideal spot for an afternoon party. 

If you decide to rent the tent, your caterers will have access to their kitchen, complete with a fridge and oven. They will also have a cold room with easy access near the back of the tent. Your visitors will have on-site parking as well as indoor, accessible restrooms. They will additionally have access to a checkroom at the entrance with hangers available to use.
